It’s a bit late in the season to be touting a 2009 calendar but this one was too clever to pass up. Not only does it serve a true recyclable purpose (calendar=pollen) but the pages are quite lovely and it arrives in a nifty silver tin.
From Olive Barn. $24.95.
Ever since San Francisco banned the use of plastic bags in large supermarkets and pharmacies (paper is now used), I’ve noticed a definite uptake in people using canvas and reusable bags when they shop. And what a terrific opportunity for a whole new product market.
I’ve been a big fan of the Envirosax line since it came out in 2004 – in the category of “usable shopping bags” they’ve got it sewn up. Sturdy construction, true over-the-shoulder design and the best assortment of graphics in this category. And their “kid” and “graphic” series bags hold an impressive 40-44 pounds.
Their size is so compact and light that I carry with me at all times. And at this price-point, there’s no excuse not to look hip while saving the environment.
From Envirosax. Prices start at $8.50 each.
I’ve been a huge fan of rechargeable “ambient” light (aka the Candela line) for years, so I wasn’t surprised when I instantly connected with the chunky, warm looks of the Luau lamps. I think I want to hug them.
From Vessel. $199.
